The Few . . . The Proud . . .

no wait; that's the Marines. . . wrong slogan. . . another organization entirely

This evening, Jonah joined Boy Scouts.  His buddy John has been trying to talk him into joining for years.  The time was never right - Jonah was interested but not enough to sign up.

Then this past weekend, John invited Jonah to a Boy Scout Base Camp Extravaganza...

They had a blast!

Jonah came home determined to become a Boy Scout, so tonight he went to the troop meeting and got himself registered.

So much of Scouts is right up Jonah's alley: 9 camping trips per year, service projects, badges for hiking, biking, swimming, etc.  We know he is going to love it!

Ken and I are trying hard to overlook our reservations: not liking the social-political stances (Sheri), worried about the time commitment (Ken) . . .  and just let Jonah enjoy this new venture.
